About the Book
The Satanic Scriptures hands down the wit, wisdom and diabolical perspective of the Church of Satan’s High Priest, Magus Peter H. Gilmore. These essays, articles and diatribes have been collected from over twenty years of the High Priest’s writings for his infernal cabal, some first issued in the pages of publications available only to insiders. From the magic of toys to techniques of time travel, Magus Gilmore leads the reader down a Left-Hand Path where few will find what they expect. Why is Satanism the Feared Religion?
Is it Satanic to be a fascist?
Same-sex marriage–would it be acceptable in a United Satanic America?
What do Satanists think about terrorism, and where do they lay the blame?
The answers may surprise you.
The Devil always has all the best tunes and now you’ll hear from a Satanic Maestro how the Dark Lord has influenced composers and musicians long before the advent of electric guitars and stadium concerts.
Magus Gilmore reveals principles of Satanic Ritual in a frank discussion of forbidden rites. What is a Satanic Funeral? How do Satanists marry? Find out now, as these unholy ceremonies have never before been disclosed outside of the Church of Satan’s Hellish Hierarchy. Here is the philosophy for those bold enough to be their own Gods—or Devils.

Reviews
“Now all can see what those in the know have appreciated for some time; the steely intellect, lethally razor-like wit, cogently charged writing style, and deeply diabolical erudition of Peter H. Gilmore. Having followed his writing since the 1980’s, I had some idea what to expect, but in all earnestness, and all partisan interests aside, in 300+ pages, The Satanic Scriptures exceeds all expectations in depth and breadth of thought and subject matter covered.
One thing I have always appreciated about the author is his cogent, yet accessible, writing style. He does not dumb-down his presentation for the sake of gaining converts, yet maintains an unpretentious clarity in the presentation of fully-loaded and highly-charged thinking. Each paragraph is bursting with ideas fertile for further development. Including observations on Satanic history, original rituals, views on international terrorism, organic stratification, classical music, the Columbine massacre, political aspects of Satanism, and much more, this is rich and thought provoking material. From rising through the ranks of the Church of Satan, to fighting on the front lines during the “Satanic Panic”, to the rigors of administrating, publicly representing, and defending an organization frequently under hostile attack and composed of highly individual and eccentric constituents, for over two decades, Peter Gilmore has the optimal vantage point from which to survey his subject matter and how it plays out in theory and practice in the unforgiving arena of the real world.
The Satanic Scriptures is without doubt the most important compendium of original Satanic thought since the writings of Dr. Anton LaVey and amply demonstrates why the author is, and always has been, the most worthy and appropriate inheritor of the mantle of High Priest of the Church of Satan.”

Design Notes
Great care has been taken in producing a fine book at a reasonable cost, with quality papers, material and binding. Timothy Patrick Butler (weirdart.com) has created unique illustrations for the book, including three plates to represent the Marriage, Funeral and Ragnarök rituals. Reverend Kevin I. Slaughter worked with Magus Peter Gilmore to develop an entirely new style for typesetting rituals, not seen in any publication before. The priority was to produce a text that could not only be read in low-light settings common to ritual work, but stage direction and notation could be clearly identified and differentiated.
The book is professionally bound in traditional 16 page Smythsewn signatures. The pages are a natural color wood free paper. The hardback and slipcased editions feature quarter cloth binding and full color printed front and back panels in addition to either the 4 color dust jacket or full cloth slipcase. The cloth used is from one of Japan’s oldest book cloth makers.
